Sharmin Campbell – Director 

Sharmin qualified as an occupational therapist in 1975 and initially worked in the community, gaining an in depth appreciation of how it is often the environment that handicaps the individual with a disability. She has gained extensive experience while employed by Social Services of adaptation work and has developed a specialist interest in this area.  She is particularly interested in how the environment can be changed to enhance independence.  Later, with the introduction of the Community Care Act in 1990, she adopted a case management role and was then also responsible for assessing the care needs of disabled people. She has been offering a case management service since 1990, working with a range of clients, but primarily with children with a disability and their families.

Sharmin has been working independently since 1991, as a consultant in occupational therapy, maintaining client contact through private practice, and offering a case management service.

Sharmin is the Director of PICCS but also has an active caseload.

Julie Merritt – Office Manager

Julie is AAT trained and has been working with Sharmin for the past 20 years. Julie is our office manager and so is responsible for the smooth running of the office. She is the first point of contact for solicitors and clients and it is her role to facilitate communication between our clients, respective case managers and solicitors to ensure a seamless approach. Julie has gained considerable insight into the type of support that people with a disability require and has developed an understanding of the role of the case manager and the relationship they have with the client. She has excellent communication skills and will ensure effective communication between the client and case manager.
